Your video should be unique and interesting, but also educational so your peers can get a good sense of what the job looks like and what skills are required.

When is the contest?
It runs from March 10 to June 1, and projects can be submitted anytime during this period.
Who will decide the winners?
The winner will be selected by a panel of ConnectEd staff and media arts professionals.
Will you provide any additional support?
You can view Day at Work resources, including sample interview questions and media production tools and tips.
In addition, a panel of independent filmmakers are available to mentor you throughout this project to help you narrow down on your chosen video subject, provide feedback on interview questions, or review and critique rough cuts. Contact us at media@connectedstudios.org to sign up!
What if I don’t have a ConnectEd Studios account?
As a teacher or student, you will need a ConnectEd Code to register with ConnectEd Studios. If you do not have a code, please email admin@connectedstudios.org with the name of your school or pathway to receive the appropriate code.
When will the winners be announced?
The winners will be announced on June 20th, and the final project will be featured this summer and promoted throughout the year.
How do I submit my video?
You will submit your completed Day at Work video through ConnectEd Studios.
Content Requirements
Show- Your video should follow the general structure of other ConnectEd Studios Day at Work videos:
- clearly showcases a day in the life of an industry professional at work in a major industry sector (choose any of the industries listed in the drop-down menu on our Day at Work channel)
- includes knowledge and skills required for the profession
- outlines the professional’s career path - how did they get to where they are today and what advice do they have for students?
- The final cut of the video can be 2 to 4 minutes in length, including end credits.
- All submissions must be in by June 1.
- Any photographs or video clips used in your submission must be entirely of your creation.
- Music must be free of copyright material unless you are given written permission.
- The video cannot contain profanity, vulgarity, or references to objectionable and offensive material.
Technical Requirements
Show- We accept YouTube-ready videos, high-definition is preferred, under 200MB.
- Your team should strive for clear audio that is free of background noise.
- The video should utilize ConnectEd Studios graphics, available on the Resources page.
- All students in grades 9-12 in the United States are welcome to participate on a team. Email us if you are unsure of your eligibility. A maximum of 4 students can serve on one team, but only one student needs to submit the final video on behalf of their team through ConnectEd Studios.
- Each team can only submit one video, so make it your best!
